This year there is again the ensemble competition chamber music with guitar.

The “Chamber Music with Guitar” competition is only held every few years at the Twents Gitaarfestival. Like the solo competition, it is aimed at students at conservatories and music colleges, as well as young professional musicians from all over the world. Experience has shown that the technical and artistic level of the contributions is impressively high.
Hosting a chamber music competition is still a rarity within European guitar festivals. It is therefore a unique opportunity to experience the guitar in interaction with other instruments. Guitar duos are welcome, as well as guitar and one other instrument, even ensembles of up to five people in different formations are allowed. The composition can be freely chosen by the participants, as can the repertoire. Only the guitar has to play an important and leading role within the ensemble. We hope for a wide-ranging program of musical epochs and styles.
Our expert jury is made up of renowned musicians from all over Europe. You will ultimately decide which of the participating ensembles will be crowned the winner of the competition. The winners will be announced the same day at the Kaliber Kunstenschool, opposite the Muziekcentrum, where our workshops, presentations and master classes also take place.

Twents Gitaarfestival Competitie

Would you like to hear a nice concert with a wide-ranging program or would you like to experience the guitar in interaction with other instruments? Are you interested in the atmosphere of a professional music competition? Then you are cordially invited to come and listen.
Access is free. However, we kindly ask that you only enter or leave the hall between the individual contributions and follow the instructions of the staff so as not to disturb the concentration of the participants in the competition unnecessarily.
