Who will be the next winner of our Twents Gitaarfestival competition?

Young talents from the guitar world face an expert jury of renowned guitarists and classical musicians from all over Europe in order to succeed in this solo competition. The Twents Gitaarfestival competition is aimed at student and professional guitarists from all over the world. It already has a long tradition and a number of former winners are at home on the international concert stages. Some are already lecturers at universities and conservatories.

The quality of our competition is known beyond the borders of the Netherlands. Participants usually play at the highest technical and musical level. Since the repertoire can be chosen freely, this promises a high variety of styles and listening impressions.

The first round will take place on Thursday, May 18th from 9 a.m. Here all participants play their eight-minute program and it is decided here who can prove their ability to be in the final on Saturday, May 20th from 3 p.m. The jury’s evaluation will be announced on the same day at the Kaliber Kunstenschool.

In the final, the participants are allowed to present a 25-minute program. Here, too, the choice of program is free. However, at least two different style epochs must be covered here. The winner receives prize money of €1000, the time-placed €500. Excitement is guaranteed in any case!

The Twents Gitaarfestival competition is public and freely accessible to everyone. Would you like to get a taste of the festival atmosphere or just get an idea of a music competition? Then you are exactly right here. Maybe you just want to hear a nice concert. In this case you are also cordially invited to visit the Twents Gitaarfestival competition.

We ask kindly that you only enter or leave the concert hall between the individual contributions in order not to disturb the concentration of the participants unnecessarily.
